Who we are

The short version

Your learning progress lives on your device. We run our own server in Germany, use no advertising networks and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we collect the minimum needed to run the app and make it better.

What we process

• Anonymous device ID — a random identifier generated on first start. It lets the app talk to our server without knowing who you are. (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest.)
• Email address (optional) — only if you create an account, used solely for sign-in codes and restoring purchases across devices. (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — contract.)
• Feedback you send — message text and optional contact email, used to answer you. (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR.)
• Pseudonymous usage events — e.g. which word or picture was shown, whether an answer was correct, how long it took. Tied to the anonymous ID, not to your identity. We use this to rank pictures, tune difficulty, and improve the app. (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.)
• Purchases — handled by Google Play. We receive purchase confirmations, never your payment details. (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.)

Learning progress, settings and content are stored locally on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app.

Where it is stored

Our server runs at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany (EU). We do not transfer your data outside the EU.

How long we keep it

Account and usage data are kept while your account or device registration is active. Feedback is kept as long as needed to handle it. You can request deletion at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email hi@flimt.io — deletion requests are honored within 30 days. You may also complain to a supervisory authority (for us: LDI Nordrhein-Westfalen).

Children

The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond what is described above.

Changes

We will update this page when the app's data handling changes; the date above always reflects the current version.
